The lowdown

Few places in the world embrace fancy dress as enthusiastically as Bestival does. Themes change every year but the effort put in by some is truly remarkable. The festival is a fantastic mix of tastes and genres and is played out over stages, tents, bandstands and wandering entertainers.

The backdrop is a beautiful country park with a few hills and wooded areas to navigate but the facilities are pretty good and the crowd very friendly. Bestival takes place in September each year and is often the closing festival of the season for many
